After coming to Farmington New Mexico for three months, fifty years later K K Walling is still painting the four corners area and calling it home. Painting the Southwest out on location is her favorite and the variety of places to paint is special.

Retired as the gallery coordinator from San Juan College in Farmington, Kathy remains on the adjunct art faculty.

K K Walling is a signature member of theNational Oil & Acrylic Painters' Society and an artist member of Oil Painters of America, Plein Air Artists of Colorado, Plein Air Painters of New Mexico, American Impressionist Society and one of the founders of the Plein Air Painters of the Four Corners.

She is also on the Capitol Art Foundation Board, which oversees the art collection in the New Mexico State Capitol, Santa Fe.
